Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
This policy explains how Schuler Media LLC handles personal information when you visit The Incident Board at theincidentboard.com or contact us about the publication.
Information and its use
When you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name and message. We use it to respond, investigate corrections and manage correspondence.
Requests to the website necessarily disclose technical information to the services delivering it, including an IP address, browser information, requested address and request time. Such information may be processed for delivery, troubleshooting and security. The public website does not require a password and does not currently offer reader accounts, paid subscriptions or newsletter sign-up.
Analytics and privacy signals
We use our own Matomo installation at matomo.relusch.com to measure page views, outbound links, downloads and active reading of incident records, including reading depth and engagement. The analytics code does not set analytics cookies. It removes query strings and fragments from page, referring-page and tracked destination URLs.
The analytics code does not load when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. It runs only on the publication’s production domains, not localhost or pages.dev preview addresses. These controls affect analytics; they do not prevent the network requests needed to deliver the website.
Analytics requests also transmit ordinary connection information, including the visitor’s IP address and browser details, to the analytics server. Cookie-free measurement does not mean that no information is processed.
Hosting, fonts and external sites
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. The pages load fonts from Fontshare and Google Fonts, so your browser connects to those providers and sends the connection information needed to retrieve the fonts. Those providers process requests under their own policies. Source links take you to separately operated websites.
This version of The Incident Board does not load Google Analytics or advertising scripts. If services or data practices change, we will update this policy.
Sharing and storage
Information may be handled by providers supporting hosting, security, analytics and correspondence, disclosed where legally required, or transferred as part of a business transaction subject to applicable safeguards. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Schuler Media LLC is based in the United States. Processing may occur in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. We keep information for the purposes described here and applicable legal obligations, and use reasonable safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on providing the requested service, consent where required, legal obligations, or legitimate interests in operating and securing the publication. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Children
The publication is not directed to children under 13. If you believe we have collected a child’s personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
